I'm a dutch painter. I studied at AKI, Academy of Visual Arts and Design in Enschede, The Netherlands. My work is a research on the power of attraction that decay has on me. I'm fascinated by the tension between the serene rest of a inanimated body and the idea of your own transitoriness. The urge to express this in images proceeds from the impotence to declare this paradox in words. I like to express decay in lively colours. To me, the picture of a dead person is a powerful image, that seems to have more meaning than an image of a living person. </body>
