About me

My name is Judith Schepers. I'm a dutch painter. I studied at AKI, Academy of Visual Arts and Design in Enschede, The Netherlands. My work is a research on the power of attraction that decay has to me. I'm fascinated by the tension between the serene rest of an inanimated body and the idea of your own transitoriness. The urge to express this in images proceeds from the impotence to declare this paradox in words. I like to express decay in lively colours. To me, the picture of a dead person is a powerful image, that seems to have more meaning than an image of a living person.
